José Martínez believes great coffee starts with exceptional fruit. Rather than relying on increasingly complex processing techniques, he concentrates on careful cultivation, selective picking and allowing the Gesha variety to express itself naturally. It’s an approach that favours precision over intervention and lets the quality of the harvest take centre stage.
Originally discovered in the forests of Ethiopia, Gesha has become one of the world’s most celebrated coffee varieties thanks to its remarkable aromatic complexity. Colombia’s cool mountain climate provides ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation, allowing those delicate floral and citrus characteristics to develop naturally while maintaining sweetness and balance.
The cup is beautifully poised. Jasmine and bergamot lead into notes of white peach, honey and soft citrus, carried by a silky body and a long, elegant finish. It’s a coffee that demonstrates why Gesha continues to set the benchmark for clarity, refinement and expressive flavour.
