By the time he reached 40, he proudly presided over a sprawling 20-hectare farm, yet, facing the ebbs of market fluctuations, he sought innovation. Joining the specialty coffee association in 2011, he emerged as a trailblazer, crafting exclusive micro-lots and pioneering alternative processing techniques. In 2012, he made waves by planting 5000 Gesha trees, enriching his farm’s tapestry with rare varietals.
Beyond his passion for coffee, Luis is a beacon of community empowerment, providing vital employment opportunities. Guided by Cofinet in 2019, he embraced sustainability by interweaving native trees, nurturing both the land and his craft.
