We introduce another juicy Ethiopian coffee bursting with delicate florals and the jammy notes we all know and love from Yirgacheffe.
Worka Chelichele washing station
This coffee has been named after Worka Chelichele washing station, which is favourably positioned to receive coffee cherries from the famed Yirgacheffe area. Located in central southern Ethiopia, Yirgacheffe is well known for its superior coffee quality that has helped shape the speciality coffee industry worldwide. The exceptional coffee quality attributed to the region is due to a number of factors. Firstly, Ethiopia remains coffee’s birthplace and as such is grown in perfect natural conditions and climate. Secondly, farming standards have remained strong with some of the longest standing harvest and process methods ingrained into Ethiopias traditions and culture.
Naturally processed this coffee has been laid out to dry on raised beds for approximately 21 days. The station has 360 drying beds and each bed is marked with a code that makes it simple to keep track of traceability and processing status.
Can you taste it?
Due to its natural process the Chelichele exudes delicate florals and has a particularly fruity funk flavour on the palette. Expect tasting notes of peach, orange zest and jasmine with almond nut body.
Our recommendation
Due to its light and delicate flavour we recommend trying this coffee black to accentuate this, whether on filter or espresso. Of course if your prefer coffee with milk it still taste great, so each to their own.
We recommend consuming this coffee between weeks 2 to 4 after its roast date, but of course, try it before or after too.
