The Original Reusable Cup – KeepCup

KeepCup

We live in a world of busy schedules where time is precious and convenience is king. For many of us grabbing a coffee to go on the daily commute to work is routine, but what repercussions does such a fast lifestyle have on the environment? The use of disposable coffee cups is a common occurence and a company that gets nowhere near enough credit for attempting to tackle this waste disposal mentality is KeepCup, hence why i’m dedicating a post to this great forward thinking brand.

Despite more coffee shops taking steps in the right direction with the use of recyclable disposable coffee cups, UK landfills are generating an estimated 2.5 billion disposable cups of waste per year in an era where waste and damage to mother Earth is high on the agenda for many of us like the legendary David Attenborough, which is where KeepCup does what it can to help.

Created in Australia KeepCup brought us the worlds first Barista standard reusable cup paving the way for many companies to follow suit. The mission: encourage the use of reusable cups by introducing a sustainable and reusable cup. The objective: lift the reuse rates of cups in coffee shops to 40%. This is by no means an easy feat and it has taken nearly a decade for them to change customer behavior, but through persistence and determination they’ve managed to grow a global brand with over 3 million cups sold since 2009 across 65 countries.

The key to their success…a great designed product that makes you feel good not just from the coffee you drink from it but the movement you become apart of. KeepCups motto ‘Feel Good, Do Good’ definitely resonates well when a single KeepCup has the same plastic content as 28 disposable cups. Designed not just to look good they’re packed to the brim with practicality including being durable, lightweight, machine washable, heat retentive, ergonomically designed and at the long lasting end of their lives remaining completely recyclable. And if that wasn’t enough they’re also fully customisable to keep them unique and personal.

As a KeepCup fan since day dot I cant recommend them enough so if you haven’t yet been blessed with one already, the only question you need to ask yourself is why not?
